PartyPal for AI assistants
Plan parties by asking. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Muse or any MCP client to PartyPal and it can start a party, tell you what is left to do, see who is coming, find vendors, and answer the invitations you receive.
Connect
PartyPal is a hosted MCP server. Add it to your assistant as a connector with this URL, and sign in to PartyPal when it asks:
https://partypal.social/api/mcp
- Claude — Add PartyPal as a custom connector and sign in.
- ChatGPT — Turn on developer mode, add PartyPal as a connector and sign in.
- Gemini — Add PartyPal as a custom app at gemini.google.com and sign in.
- Muse — Add PartyPal as a custom connector — sign in, or paste an access token.
- Other MCP clients — Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP.
Each guide walks through the steps. Authorization is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE: the assistant registers itself and you approve it on a PartyPal consent page. Assistants that take a token instead get one from Settings → AI assistants, where you can also disconnect any of them. You need a free PartyPal account.
What it will and will not do
- Nothing is sent to your guests or vendors by the assistant. Invitations, reminders, thank-yous and vendor briefs are drafted as cards you approve inside the PartyPal app.
- Anything that costs or notifies asks first. Creating a party (one event credit), AI generation, answering an invitation, cancelling or trashing a party: the assistant shows you a summary and only proceeds once you confirm. This is enforced by the server, not just by the assistant.
- Guests' contact details never leave. Tools name people by first name; no email addresses or phone numbers are returned.
- Your parties and your invitations are separate. A party you are invited to shows you the invitation, never the host's budget or guest list.
- It cannot buy credits or change your account, and it cannot permanently delete anything.

get_theme · get_theme_ideas · set_theme · generate_theme | The theme board with its pictures and cake designs; ideas from the catalog; set the theme; generate the board, pictures and cakes (two-step). |
set_invite_cover · render_invite_cover · start_image_upload | Put an image on the invitation — as the whole invite, like uploading your own in the app, or as the cover. A file with no link gets a one-time upload link. Goes on the draft; guests see it once you publish. |

get_day_of_schedule · set_task_times | The party-day run of show; move tasks to new times. |
share_invite | Your public invitation link, once you have published the invite. |

get_invitation · get_my_rsvp · get_invitation_bring_list · get_run_of_show | The invitation, your answer, what to bring, the day-of schedule the host shared. |
rsvp_to_invitation | Answer an invitation, with party size, dietary need, what you will bring and a note. Two-step; the host is notified. |
add_to_calendar | The details plus a calendar (.ics) file. |
get_gift_ideas | Gift ideas for the party. Two-step. |
get_diy_kit | For a party you host: the do-it-yourself shopping kit. |
Sending — as drafts you approve
The connector never emails or messages anyone. These write a card in the PartyPal app; you approve it there, and only then is it sent.
propose_guest_email | An invitation, RSVP reminder or thank-you to a group of guests. |
propose_vendor_brief | A brief to a vendor on your shortlist. |
The live list, with every argument, is what the server returns to tools/list.
For developers
- Transport: MCP streamable HTTP, stateless (single JSON responses, no sessions). Protocol versions 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26, 2024-11-05.
- Authorization: OAuth 2.1 — discovery at
/.well-known/oauth-authorization-serverand/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/api/mcp; dynamic client registration (RFC 7591), public clients, PKCE S256. A bearer access token from Settings → AI assistants also works. - A 401 from the endpoint carries
WWW-Authenticatewithresource_metadata, as the MCP authorization spec describes. - Tool results carry
structuredContentand a text copy; refusals come back as tool results withisError, never as protocol errors. - MCP Apps: the party overview, the theme, the cake designs, invite and RSVPs, and the invitation tools on the guest's side name a
ui://resource (text/html;profile=mcp-app), so hosts that support MCP Apps show the answer as a card. Lists — parties, checklist, budget, vendors, invitations — are text. Other hosts get every answer as text.
